New House Renovation Week 1- Part 1

At the end of Week 1 This is what our new house looks like!

As of the end of week one not much has changed outside besides the removal of the wood infront of the front entry way:

                                                                Before:

Honestly most of the work this week was inside with a focus on getting the plumbing figured out and the electrical, and some demolition of walls, removal of cabinets...

We worked on filling this up, it's at least half full at the end of the 1st week!

Most anything that looks dead is our land here, a bit of green in the back north west corner from the overflow from the neighbor is ours, otherwise dead stuff equals our land, but not for long with Jordan our green thumb!!!

                                         Check out our mountain view!!!!

The "view" as you walk inside the front door, stairs to the 1 room upstairs is to the left, living room to the right with dining area behind it at the 2nd window.

Shot of the Stairs all the way up to the skylight, bedroom entrance to the left.

Side views of the stairs and into the living room, notice we removed a built in from the living room and flooring which was removed everywhere:

That is the backdoor open in the picture and another shot of the dining area adjacent to the kitchen:

Picture from the dining area into the living room, open space there is where the wall oven was:

Before: Notice the wall oven on the left side, it's a side shot of the oven.

After: On the right is where the oven wall was, maybe we will put one there later on, not for now though...

 Our kitchen????

Well we were not able to salvage the kitchen cabinets due to years of water damage and warping so guess we will start from scratch, at least we can open it up, it was pretty tight! Huge Thanks to my brother-in-law who came to help tear out this particular weekend, this was a huge job, cabinets in the bathroom, kitchen, the tile in both rooms, huge job is probably an understatement!

Bathrooms

Now remember this house came with 1 bathroom, Stacia says a minimum of 2 bathrooms so we are adding a bathroom to this house where the old bedroom on the main floor was located next to the bathroom. This way the water lines, drains, etc. can be connected to between the walls with back to back water, etc. The hope at Week 1 is to salvage the tub, the tile had to go, the bathroom cabinet, toilet and at least part of the wall..... After cutting into the wall we realized the kitchen cabient backs needed to be replaced on the lower half, until we opened up the backs and found the kitchen cabinets had to go so new kitchen and bathroom cabinets coming up!

Original closet from bathroom, see that doorway? It will become part of the wall for the back of the walk-in closet.

Master Bedroom Project!

Remember the storage room? We tried to save the cabinets, they just were not co-operative unfortunately so they had to go, the set across the room was salvagable and will go into our garage. Now this storage area will become a part of the master bedroom!

That is the Master bathroom & walk-in closet to the right and the hallway to the left, some of this will become a hallway to the family room and garage, the rest will become the new Master Bedroom!
